I know, I know, unusual for me to post on a Monday but I have soooo many things to share with you all before Christmas, the only way I can do that is by squeezing in this Immune Booster Juice recipe on a Monday. I want us all to be happy and healthy for the holidays, so this is the first and most important thing I have to share with you all. Let’s get to the ingredients:
Ginger: Ginger has like a million health benefits but the #1 reason it has an effect on boosting immunity is because it promotes perspiration and we all know, sweating is the best way to combat a cold or the flu. You can read more about ginger and it’s awesomeness here.
Clementines: Clementines are very high in Vitamin C, which is a potent antioxidant. Vitamin C is water soluble which means our bodies cannot store it and therefore we need to provide them with Vitamin C through our diet on a daily basis. You can read more about clementines and it’s benefits here.
Pineapple: Pineapple is known for its anti-inflammatory properties and nutrient richness but I’m going to be completely honest with you, even if it only had half of the benefits it has, it would still be in this juice because THIS is what makes the juice taste AMAZING! Drink this deliciousness every day until New Year’s Eve to strengthen your immune system and have those yucky bugs you are exposed to on the bus, the train, the mall, the office, the grocery store, the the the WORLD, go find someone else’s weaker body to crawl into and make sick. YOUR body and immune system will be stronger than The Hulk and YOUR Christmas and New Year’s Eve will be spent partying, not sneezing and wiping snot, eeeewww!
Just in case you were wondering by observing the pictures, no, you do not have to funnel the juice from the juicer’s pitcher into a bottle in order to serve it into glasses, haha. You can serve it right out of that pitcher. If there is juice left though (because I recommend to only drink one small cup of it a day, pineapple has a lot of sugar and too much of it is bad both for the teeth AND the physique) you should definitely store it in a glass container that can be sealed tightly such as a bottle like the one shown on the picture or a mason jar or something along the lines. Store the juice in the fridge for only a couple of days.
Immune Booster Juice
- 1 pineapple
- 6 clementines
- As much fresh ginger as you can bear (since I had kids drink this I could only use a 1"x1" piece)
- Peel and cut pineapple.
- peel clementines.
- Thoroughly wash ginger, leaving skin on.
- If you have a juicer put all ingredients through juicer (this is the one I have). If you don't have a juicer you can use a blender, add about 1/4 cup water in first. Blend until smooth, then strain out pulp through a mesh sieve.
